This would be the perfect batch! Willy gave a huge, tooth-filled smile at his most recent, and most appropriate batch of waffle mix, ready to be sent out into the college dining hall. The dining hall requests that Willy follows the directions on the box exactly; that they have the measurements on there for a reason. But Willy knows better. Two cups of batter for every one and a half cups of water makes the waffles a bit too runny; not full of body, like a waffle should be. You see, Willy's secret is to put three-fifths of a cup of water in for every cup and a quarter of batter. That, and a cup full of glass shards. This is his first attempt at such a daring task as disobeying the pre-set directions on the box, but he is also sure it will not be his last. Once they all get a taste of his fluffy, full-bodied waffles, they will be singing a different tune. They will increase his pay, they will write a story about the "Waffles from Heaven" in the campus paper, turning him into somewhat of a local celebrity. Willy is snapped out of his vision of things to come by Harriett, the dining hall attendant. "Willy, is the batter ready yet?" Willy hands it to her, careful not to spill any and deprive some poor college kid of the opportunity to taste his tantalizing creation. "Thanks Willy!" Harriett said. "You're such a sweety!" Willy just smiled and shrugged. Hopefully sweet Harriett will get a mouthful of the Willy Waffle Surprise! She works hard, and is always really nice to him- if anyone deserves a waffle break, it is her.
